Come join us Monday night for the Assembly’s first-ever Magic Showcase, to be held at the Dozen Street lounge in East Austin. The evening will feature magic, music, mind-reading and more — including wacky open-mic material. The show starts at 7 p.m., and will be held in lieu of the regular Assembly 206 meeting.
The Assembly showcase is open to the public, and those under 18 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. (And please don’t even THINK of ordering alcohol if you’re under age.) There’s no cover charge, although tips and donations will be graciously accepted. All proceeds benefit the club, including 10 percent of bar sales.
Even if you’re not performing, please come out to support your fellow Assembly members. Our volunteers include The Girl Who Knows, Brad Henderson, Steve Farmer, Shelby Parsons, John Maverick, Turning Tricks with The Darlings, Cranius Astounding, Helena Back and Peter the Adequate.
One final note: we need folding chairs for the performance. If you have some to lend us, please contact Jake Dyer at 512 658-0017. Or just show up early to Dozen Street and bring a few with you.
Dozen Street is located at 1808 East 12th Street, in East Austin. Free parking is directly across the street. The entrance is on 12th just west of Chicon.
